Thoughts about God

Be A Worshipper and not a Worrier

Why worry?

Why fret?

The creator of the universe watches over you constantly. He neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Why worry about anything that’s outside of your sphere of control or circle of influence? Leave that to the one who sees beyond you. Far ahead and beyond. Cast your cares, anxiety, worries and burdens on him.

Stop worrying about how it’s going to work, just relax and trust the process. Put your confidence in God, not in man. Trust in Him to consistently work things out for your good.

Most times, we find that we don’t stop worrying and striving until there’s really nothing left for us to do or that we can do. Stay on the path He leads you to and trust Him to bring you to an expected end.

I have faith in this one thing: God is able to make all grace abound unto us.

There was a scenario that occurred and was played out for me that emphasised this truth.

Some time ago, there was water scarcity, a dearth of water supply and I needed water but had absolutely no idea how I was going to get it, or if I’d even get at all. I had a few ideas though but I chose not to be bothered; I couldn’t be, I chose to let my worries be insignificant compared to the magnificence of my God – the one who takes care of me and loves me with an everlasting love.

The above, is ideally how we should treat each and every one of our issues. I’m learning to trust, learning to be patient, knowing that He has promised to work things out for my good.

I digressed a little but I’ll focus back to the story I illustrated earlier. It turned out that God provided water for me abundantly, in a way I didn’t really expect or anticipate, with ease. This made me trust in His provision all the more.

It’s a fact that God loves to show Himself to us, to reveal different aspects of His character and personality; a new aspect of Him and truly He did show Himself as – Jehovah Jireh (God My Provider).

Knowing that we really can’t see very far ahead, it’s safe to trust our lives to the one who has the farthest sight, who can envision our future better than we ever possibly could. He has the blueprint and the map. Our beginning and our end. So why not concentrate our efforts, and focus our energy in not only enjoying, but making the best of the now. The present is called so because it is a gift. The past is history and the future is unknown.

It is my prayer that we resign ourselves to His will and bidding. That we allow Him to quicken our faith as He keeps us hoping, trusting, believing and loving.

I leave you with this anchor scripture:

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes”.
Matthew 6:34 MSG

The Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

The above prayer which is famous and one I love so much, teaches us that we do have the power to change some things, as long as we can be proactive and courageous about it.

Instead of worrying about things you can’t change, or have no influence or control over, I bid you to rather invest yourself in the worship of God.

Remember that worship is not just singing songs, it’s a lifestyle of Thanksgiving, utter submission, deference and adoration towards God.

Thanksliving helps you win at life victoriously.

Have and keep an attitude of gratitude.

Love and Grace,
