Indeed not everything that glitters is gold. Not everything opportunity is a ‘blessing’. Not everything that looks attractive is good. Never get so desperate for anything in life that you start to think or feel like you have no options, that you totally depend on it. Remember, you always have a choice. At the point […]
Never look for anything when you’re desperate.
Do not look for anything when desperate.
Not a job, a house or a man.
Desperation leads to settling.
I’ve found myself constantly settling for desperate things. I experience a drought, and then I settle for the next readily available thing. I’m glad I’m not that way anymore.
Sit back and properly evaluate. Don’t just take a head dive. Smell the water, take a nosedive and check for sharks. See if that thing is a good fit for you. Do some research, seek counsel by talking to someone older, wiser or more experienced than you if possible. Their experiences will go a long way in helping you make the right choice and preventing you from making unnecessary mistakes.
It’ll be good to always take a test drive first, to see if it’s a good fit before you take it. I mean we do the same for material things like clothes, shoes, houses… No one buys such without sampling it first. It’s just not wise.
Darazizi, that is a great lesson learned. When we are desperate, we settle for things because of our hastiness. It’s like trying to fit into a jeans, knowing fully well that it doesn’t fit but out of desperation, one puts it on and while walking, it rips at the junction. Sometimes, in our desperation, we place ourselves in situations that can cause greater consequences if only we had patiently waited. The lessons will continue to flow. Thank you for sharing 🤗

Thanks so much for sharing your perspective, Karen. I absolutely agree with you. It’s important to not only consider the now but the future implications. It may suffice for now, but how about tomorrow?. Honestly, it’s not so easy to practice patience, but delayed gratification is a must if we want to be able to look back from the future without regrets. Let’s continually learn valuable life lessons together 💖
